Who loves bunnies?!
This sweet bunny is here to wish everyone a very “Hoppy Easter!” Bunny seems to be a bit bashful and is hiding inside the wreath or maybe she’s just waiting for a chance to nibble on the wreath! Of course, just look into those innocent brown velvet eyes, and you just know she would never do such a thing!
The wreath is customizable in that a name could be added where the lettering shows Hoppy Easter or the lettering could be left out all together. The wreath is created using 3 different colors of ink—light gray, dark gray and sepia.
The wreath decorations and foliage along with the bunny is rendered using pastel watercolors and gradients. If you don’t have a bunch of pastel watercolors, no worries—all you need is a tube of white titanium watercolor and you’re good to go with your regular watercolors! While it is possible to paint pastels without the addition of white, this class will be taught using white mixed with the other pigments normally found on our palettes.
This design* makes great cards, table place-cards, framable art and gift tags as well as a fun journal page. *The project is actually broken out with two designs, one with the lettering and one without in case you want to add a personalized greeting.
The class will be hosted on the Zoom platform which gives you an opportunity to ask questions in real time while working on your artwork. Zoom is a free tool and you only need your computer to access it. You may need to download the Zoom app to get the most out of the tool.
Once you are registered, I will send out information on your prepwork and what steps you will need to complete ahead of time to be ready for each class!
Class Schedule
Class will be held online on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 @ 1:00 PM EDST
The class is two hours long and the cost is $35. You will have all materials and access to the videos for one year from the date of the class or the date you sign up for the class after it shows on the Zoom platform.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, the lettering is part of the design. You will only need to know how to letter to change it up to something new.
Do I Have To Have Your Exact Supply List?
No, you don’t. I encourage you to use what you already have with the exception of specific requirements. Your results will vary from mine regardlesss of whether you’re using the exact same pigments as we all paint differently.

Recommended Supply List
Strathmore Watercolor Cards, 5 X 6.875 inches* (https://amzn.to/2XGEQM8) OR a piece of cold press watercolor paper, 140 lb. paper 5 x 6.875 inches.
The wreath can be created larger or smaller depending on how you want to use the art and they are also appropriate for a sketchbook page.
Graphite pencil
White Eraser or SumoGrip* Eraser (https://amzn.to/3fJRgcY) – It’s black but don’t let that fool you!
A set of watercolors (I have listed the paints I used below, but it is not necessary to have the same pigments with the possible exception of a few pigments which will be clearly explained if they are needed.
Watercolors I used: (Most are Daniel Smith): Hansa Yellow Medium (https://amzn.to/3iJAQTf); Pyrrol Orange (https://amzn.to/3tshw2b); Quinacridone Rose (https://amzn.to/3vshDfI); Carbazole Violet (https://amzn.to/2Y0ZU01); Phthalo Blue, Red Shade (https://amzn.to/3tlx0F0); Phthalo Yellow Green (https://amzn.to/33Tiw3Z); Sap Green (https://amzn.to/3ovFk3f); Burnt Sienna (https://amzn.to/2RRkDjt); Burnt Umber (https://amzn.to/2DPOqFH) and M. Graham’s Titanium White* watercolor (https://amzn.to/2Q3EvSB) or gouache (https://amzn.to/2OEjf5v).
*M. Graham’s Titanium White watercolor and gouache both have a honey-based humectant so even though the paint will dry out on the palette, it seems to reconstitute much better than other watercolors that do not have the honey base. However, if you are working with fresh white paint straight from the tube, it should not matter which white you’re using as long as it is Titanium. Chinese white will work, but not nearly as well. *This class will be taught using white watercolor mixed with other pigments so you will need a tube or pan of white.
Water Brush, size Large and Small (https://amzn.to/2NTCd7I – This is for a set of three brushes) OR Watercolor brush with a sharp point, Size 6 or 8 (https://amzn.to/2WD34WR) – If your brush does not come to a sharp point, I highly recommend having a second, smaller brush, Size 1 or 2, with a sharp point.
White Uni•Ball Signo* gel pen (https://amzn.to/3fOI8Ea) or another white gel pen
Uni•Pen Fine Line Pen Set (https://amzn.to/3llASTJ) – I used the lighter gray as well as the darker gray from this set for the details on the bunny and lettering.
Paper towels, tissues, and two water containers
Toothpicks (4 or 5) or a ball stylus with a very small tip (https://amzn.to/2P0nSqg)
Optional Supplies
Graphite transfer paper (https://amzn.to/2WCYVCq) – If you purchase transfer paper, please make sure it is Wax Free)
Porcelain palette (https://amzn.to/3czcKZF) – When mixing pigments with white, especially for use during an entire painting, I tend to keep the colors on a separate palette so they do not become contaminated. This small palette has 12 very small wells which makes it perfect for this time of work. Whether this palette or another, I highly recommend having a second palette to work from.
Derwent Graphik Line Maker Marker in Graphite, Size .3 and .5 (https://amzn.to/3j6xJWA) – The graphite colored ink is very similar to the dark ink in the Uni•Pen set.
Kneaded eraser
Blow dryer
Transfer Papers
If you purchase graphite transfer paper please be sure it is Wax Free.
To transfer your project without graphite transfer paper, you can use a window or light box. You can also scribble graphite on the back of the paper to transfer the design.
